Laghetti Di Marinello, Patti, Messina 98066, Italy
The best time to visit Punta Marinello is during the late spring (May-June) or early autumn (September-October) when the weather is pleasant and the area is less crowded. Summer is also a great time if you don’t mind the heat and the higher number of visitors. We went there in April and there was almost no one there, that was also because the weather wasn't that great to stay at the beach. But we did like the vibe.
Getting There
Punta Marinello is situated near the town of Oliveri, in the province of Messina, on the northern coast of Sicily. Here’s how you can reach this coastal treasure:
By Car: The easiest way to get to Punta Marinello is by car. From Palermo, it’s about a two-hour drive east along the A20 motorway. Take the Oliveri exit and follow signs to the natural reserve.
By Train: Trains run frequently from major cities like Palermo and Messina to the Oliveri-Tindari station. From there, it’s a short taxi ride or a pleasant walk to Punta Marinello.
Where to Stay
There are a few places to stay at near the beach. There is also a big camp ground for those traveling with a campervan. Most of the Hotels are quite basic but we found our accomodation at Hotel Trattoria 4 Stagioni perfect for the one night we stayed there and also the hosts were really nice and made us feel really welcome.
