1. Háifoss
Háifoss, meaning “High Waterfall,” is one of Iceland’s tallest waterfalls, plunging 122 meters (400 feet) down into a stunning gorge near the Þjórsá River in South Iceland. The view of Háifoss, with the neighboring waterfall Granni (“Neighbor”) beside it, is a dramatic sight, surrounded by green cliffs and volcanic rock formations. It’s a bit off the beaten path, which makes the trek to reach it even more rewarding.
