Insider Tips
When you go there in spring as we did, take a change of cloths or take a jacked as it can get quite cold when the sun is not out. The water is really cold and there can be a strong wind inside the canyon where the waterfall is located. You need to walk through the water if you want to get near the waterfall so better bring a towel to dry your feet.
The best time to visit Cascate Catafurco is during the spring and early summer (April to June) when the water flow is at its peak, and the weather is pleasant. Autumn (September to October) is also a good time (if there was some rain), with fewer crowds and beautiful fall foliage. Don't make the drive in summer as most of the time there will be no water in the waterfall. There is a kiosk (Chiosco "La Casata") where the hiking trail starts that has opening hours. So if you want to take the Jeep you need to check if they are still open. You can't take your own car to the waterfall as you would need a 4x4 drive and the road is closed for normal traffic.
Getting There
